Aogo and Bruma face off at 2012 Euros

Germany including HSV's Dennis Aogo have (for a change) not had as much luck in the draw for a major tournament this time around. The Germans have been drawn in a group with Jeffrey Bruma's Holland, as the draw was made on Friday (02.12.11) for the 2012 European Championships in Poland/Ukraine, so sparks will surely fly! Read the full draw below.

As the draw was made for the 2012 European Championships in Poland/Ukraine on Friday evening (02.12.11). Germany were drawn in Group B, with Holland, Portugal and Denmark. HSV defender Dennis Aogo will therefore face HSV team mate Jeffrey Bruma across the halfway line. Aogo was taking it all in his stride as he said shortly after the draw was completed: "There is no such thing as an easy opponent any more." Aogo of course wants to finish top of the group ahead of Bruma! Leg-pulling on the cards until then!

HSV's Croatian strike force of Ivo Ilicevic and Mladen Petric also got a tough draw, being drawn in Group C alongside reigning World Cup and European champions Spain, as well as Italy and Ireland: "Spain are the favourites to win the group", knows Ilicevic, "but second place is a realistic target." On paper, Jaroslav Drobny is probably the happiest of HSV's internationals. His Czech Republic national team were drawn in Group A with co-hosts Poland, Greece and Russia. Marcus Berg and Sweden in Group D take on co-hosts Ukraine, England and France.

The Euro 2012 groups:
