HSV crash out of DFB
HSV shelved their aspirations in this season's DFB Cup competition on Wednesday night, after losing a thrilling third round clash 1-2 away to fellow Bundesliga side VfB Stuttgart. HSV dramatically crashed out of the DFB Cup on Wednesday night (21.12.11). The Rothosen played well but still lost 1-2 in Stuttgart. 36,600 at the Mercedes Benz Arena saw Cacau open the scoring for the home side on 23 minutes against the run of play. Once again, HSV were guilty of failing to take the clearcut chances they created. Hamburg levelled on 54 minutes through an own goal by William Kvist. Cacau struck again on 62 minutes though to send former HSV coach Bruno Labbacdia and Stuttgart through to the quarter final stages.
