Season Bundesliga 11.12.2011
"We are on the right track"

The 0-0 draw in Mainz was a tough day at the office for HSV. The point taken from the round 16 clash extended their unbeaten record to eight games. Read here what was said after the final whistle had been blown.

In the end, the positive outweighed the negative. Smiles slowly crept back to the faces of the HSV players as they went over to thank their massive contingent of fans for their support. Here some post-match reaction.

Thorsten Fink: We performed quite well. Obviously we can do better, we want to be more dominant and more dangerous in front of goal. One must not forget that six weeks ago we were bottom of the Bundesliga. What has happened since then is very pleasing. We are now unbeaten in eight games and kept another clean sheet today. We are definitely on the right track.

Mladen Petric: It was nice for me to be back playing again. Shame that my free kick didn't go in though. In the end we have to be happy with the point, because Mainz also had some good scoring chances, and we made life easy for them at times. In the end the draw is okay.

Heiko Westermann: We were defensively good for most of the time, but still allowed them too many chances. We can do better and have a superb keeper between our posts. Going forward we missed the final telling pass but on the whole it was okay. A win over Augsburg in our final game would go some way to making up for what was a crazy first half of the season for us.

Tomas Rincon: It was a difficult game for us, because Mainz were very confident after bearting Bayern in their last home game. That is how they played too, but we matched them and desereve to take a point home with us. In our last four games we have conceded just one goal, which shows that we are on the right track to giving our game more stability.
