"Team put into practise what was planned"
Nobody in his right mind would have predicted HSV's superb 4-1 win away to double winners Borussia Dortmund on Bundesliga matchday 21. Read here what was said after the dust had settled on the sensational win at the sold out Signal Iduna Park The arms inside the HSV sky blue away shirts reached for the skies, as match referee Manuel Gräfe blew time on HSV's amazing 4-1 victory away to Borussia Dortmund on Saturday afternoon (09.02.12). It was a great game packed with incident and goalmouth action. Everyone agreed after the game was over that the visitors were well worth their victory. Here the post-match reaction collected by HSV.de:
Thorsten Fink: Nobody expected this result, especially after our 0-2 home defeat to Frankfurt last time out. We planned beforehand to courageously venture forward at pace, and my team put it perfectly into practise. We reacted cleverly during the game so I think we are fully worth this victory. Jürgen Klopp (Borussia coach): We struggled to find a way into the game and failed to find pour usual rhythm. HSV were tough and strong. After conceding goals and then having Lewandowski sent off the game became hectic and at times wild. We couldn't keep calm. We had a really poor day against a strong HSV team. Frank Arnesen: We played cleverly today to claim a well deserved victory. All of our players including our substitutes gave their all today. Of course Lewandowski's sending off played into our cards, but we took superb advantage of the situation. Per Ciljan Skjelbred: It is simply unbelievable. After performing so badly against Frankfurt last week we travelled to take on a top side and produced a very strong performance. When you win 4-1 in Dortmund you must have done a lot right. Rafael van der Vaart: We celebrated this victory with our amazing fans as if we had won the Bundesliga title! This time we played with courage and confidence, which is the way to play when you want to take something home with you from Dortmund. We were fantastic from the opening minute and didn't let setbacks get us down. Now we have to work hard on our consistency. We can only enjoy today's success for a short time. Heung Min Son: I am just happy. Nobody gave us a chance of doing the double over champions Dortmund. It is really hard to win here. We sensed before kick off that we were well prepared for the game. As I made it 2-1 it reminded me of the first game against them in Hamburg. I always practise such shots during training. Great that one went in today. If we could always play the way we did here today we are capable of beating anyone. |
