Tolgay Arslan has not been exactly blessed with good fortune over recent months. The talented midfielder has not been able to ply his wares at all since last summer, after returning to Hamburg from a successful spell at second division outfit Alemmania Aachen. Hopefully that will all change during HSV's winter training camp residence in Marbella - Spain. HSV boss Thorsten Fink is looking forward to getting to know his first new signing.
The training camp stay in Marbella, is THE perfect opportunity for the whole HSV squad to show what they are capable of, and if possible catch the eye enough to feature in the first team during the impending second half of the season which resumes for Fink and Co with a home clash against reigning Bundesliga champs Borussia Dortmund on Sunday January 21st 2012. Thorsten Fink has dangled that carrot in front of his charges as a form of extra motivation and maybe its a ploy to banish any cobwebs accumulated during the recent winter break. One player who is highly motivated and keen to show Fink his silky skills is Arslan, who Fink has yet to see in action: "True enough, our coach knows nothing of me yet. I have been injured since he took charge and have had to train alone", Tolgay Arslan told hsv.de between two training sessions this week.
Thorsten Fink on Arslan: "I want to use this training camp to have a really good look at him." Sport director Frank Arnesen reckons that the young midfoielder: "Possesses qualities we don't yet have in our team." The experienced Dane was referring to Arslan's undoubted creative skills in the position of playmaker. |
