The real work ahead of the second half of the season has begun in earnest. The stamina-sapping strength workload is being slowly reduced, with tactical prowess taking centre stage, which in turn means that Fink is more involved in first team matters instead of standing on the touchline. Fink's plan was obviously taken on board by his charges, because accepted at the end of the opening half of the season. The fine record of eight unbeaten games under him speaks for itself.
 
The fine honing is now in full flow: "The friendly games give us a good chance to put our training work into practise. The lads have done well on that front at times", the HSV boss revealed this week. During Monday morning, Fink spent a lot of time having individual talks with his players.
