Jaro: Model pro and role model
David Jarolim joined HSV in 2003, making him the longest-serving player at the club. But he is not getting tired just yet. He hopes to play at least some role in Berlin on matchday 19. He is the longest-serving player at HSV. He joined the Rothosen back in 2003. Since then he has put his heart and soul into his work. Coach Thorsten Fink says about the man who is a role model to younger players: "David is a model pro and a hard working player." Jaro has only played in ten games so far this season and has hardly played at all since Fink took charge. Fink again: "Jaro will help us over the season. On the whole, every player in my squad is an alternative." Jarolim's faultless attitude could pay dividends in Berlin this weekend: "I don't know if I will play, but there are slight tendencies which give me cause for hope", the veteran Czech told us. Jaro has fond memeories of Berlin too. On HSV's last visit to the capital city he scored a spectacular goal from distance. Grinning he remembered: "It was of course very special, it was a great time. We played well that day and Zé Roberto also scored with a long distance shot. It was crazy." So Jaro knows how to succeed in Berlin.
