van der Vaart: "On schedule“ to play in Nürnberg"
After being sidelined with a strained hamstring, midfield general Rafael van der Vaart underwent an individual training session with fitness coach Markus Günther on Monday (14.01.13). The Dutchman is expected to resume full first team training on Tuesday.
Great news for all HSV fans: Dutch midfield master Rafael van der Vaart looks likely to be able to play away to Nürnberg on Sunday (20.01.13), as the second half of the Bundesliga begins for the Rothosen. The29 year old told us on Monday: "I am confident of playing on Sunday." van der Vaart strained his hamstring during the winter training camp stay in Abu Dhabi, but came through a „pretty tough“ individual session with Markus Günther unscathed on Monday. The Dutch international added: "Things are looking good for Sunday." It is hoped that he will resume team training on Tuesday, although his coach Thorrsten Fink said: "We will not be taking any risks with Rafael." The squad had Monday off.
