Bruno Labbadia: Following our tough game in Eindhoven, my team started this game well, creating early scoring chances. In my opinion both teams played at the same level. Such matches are sometimes decided by little things or flashes of individual brilliance as Bayern showed. Sadly that did not happen for us tonight. We will remain focused and we are always capable of starting a new winning run.
David Jarolim: In my opinion we suffered an unnecessary defeat here tonight. We created several good chances and should have scored at least once. We were keen to carry on winning following our Europa League success, in order not to lose sight of the teams above us in the Bundesliga table. We will work hard in the coming days and recuperate the points we lost tonight at home to Hertha.
Joris Mathijsen: It was an even game between two teams on the same level. We had some good chances, especially in the first half, but sadly we failed to take them. In my opinion we defended well, even if a single mistake cost us the game. We are looking ahead now. After all, there are still ten games to be played.
Piotr Trochowski: We looked solid and compact tonight. We were fit enough, despite our European exploits earlier in the week. It is always dangerous when a dribbler like Ribery gets a shot away. We had enough chances to score and had we done so, the game would have ended differently.
Bernd Hoffmann (HSV boss): Of course it was bitter losing here tonight. The game was even for long periods, so much so that we should have taken a point home with us. It is even more bitter when Frank Ribery can decide the outcome of the game with one piece of individual skill. At the moment we look unlikely to reach the top three in the table, but we won't let our heads drop. There are still ten rounds to go for us to end up in Europe again, which is our top priority. Of course we must not forget that we have reached the last 16 of the Europa League. We face Anderlecht and want to reach the final which takes place at our stadium this season.
