DFL announce dates and times for matchdays 1 to 5
The DFL have scheduled the opening five matchdays of the 2025/26 Bundesliga season. The Hamburg derby against FC St. Pauli will be played on a Friday night (29th August), the away game against FC Bayern on a Saturday night on matchday 3 (13th September).
The DFL announced the exact dates and times on Thursday (10th July) for the opening five matchdays of the new Bundesliga season. HSV’s return to the top flight of German football begins with an away game against Borussia Mönchengladbach on Sunday, 24th August at 17:30 CEST. The highly anticipated Hamburg derby then takes place five days later at the Volksparkstadion (20:30 CEST on Friday, 29th August). That clash with FC St. Pauli is followed by an international break, with HSV’s first match after that on Saturday, 13th September away at title holders FC Bayern (18:30 CEST). The Rothosen host 1. FC Heidenheim on matchday 4 at 15:30 CEST on a Saturday (20th September), before travelling to 1. FC Union Berlin the following week to play on a Sunday (28th September) at 19:30 CEST.
