Marco Richter returns to 1. FSV Mainz 05

Midfielder Marco Richter will return to his parent club 1. FSV Mainz 05 after a year on loan at Hamburger SV. The 27-year-old’s positive mindset was a welcome addition to the HSV dressing room from day 1, and he also played his part in helping the club return to the Bundesliga with a goal and two assists in 27 league games. 

“What I found when I came here was something extremely special. I was given an extremely warm welcome and every single player and the whole club now have a special place in my heart. I’m pleased that we were able to achieve our target of promotion and I wish the club, the players, the coaching and backroom staff and, above all, the fans all the best for the future," said Richter, who has made 176 top-flight appearances to date. HSV would like to thank Marco for his efforts and look forward to seeing him again in the Bundesliga.
