2-1 - HSV win final Dubai friendly
HSV beat Chinese top flight side Henan Jianye FC 2-1 in the second final friendly of the training camp stay in Dubai on Friday evening. The Rothosen men on target were Filip Kostic and Nicolai Müller.
Before their return to Hamburg on Saturday, HSV played the final friendly of the Dubai training camp on Friday evening (13.01). The game was played at the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex and the Bundesliga side led 2-0 within 90 seconds of the start through goals from Filip Kostic and Nicolai Müller. Gregoritsch and Douglas Santos then missed good chances to increaes the score. The Chinese Super League side began to rebuild and finally compete. On 26 minutes they created their first real chance and scored from it. HSV led 2-1 at the break. Both coaches rang the-expected changes after the break.
The second half was a bit sluggish, with the strenuous nine day training camp taking its toll on the Hamburg legs. Holtby and Waldschmidt both missed chances late on so the game ended 2-1 to the Rothosen, much to the delight of a handful of travelling fans who mixed with fellow fans who live locally. Hamburg coach Markus Gisdol described the friendly afterwards as: “A useful session and a positive way to end our stay here.“
