5-0 - HSV beat Al-Nasr FC in opening friendly
On Monday afternoon (Jan.9), HSV beat local side Al-Nasr FC 5-0 in theopening friendly of the training camp stay in Dubai. The scorers against the top Arabian side were Lewis Holtby (2), Michael Gregoritsch, Finn Porath and Aaron Hunt.
HSV won the first friendlyof 2017 on Monday afternoon. The Rothosen beat al-Nasr FC 5-0 watched by around 1,000 spectators at the Al Maktoum stadium. The Bundesliga visitors created some good early chances, but Müller, Holtby and Waldschmidt all missed chances to break the deadlock. The Rothosen should have taken the lead on 34 minutes as Bobby Wood found himself bearing down on the home keeper alone only to fail to score. Theice was finally broken shortly before the break with Holtby tapping home from close range after being set up by a pass inside from Waldschmidt.
That would also be the combination that provided HSV’s second goal. This time Holtby scored from the rebound after a Waldsmidt shot had come back off a post. The Hamburg dominance continued to pay off as goals by Gregoritsch, Porath and Hunt put the game to bed and ensured an easy late period of the game for the Rothosen. Both coaches made major changesat the break to give players much needed game time. It was good entertainment played in a friendly atmosphere. After the game HSV were handed the Challenge-Cup trophy.
