Aaron Hunt out again through injury

The HSV captain suffered a fascia tear in his hamstring and will be unavailable for the upcoming game against Darmstadt 98.

After the emphatic 4-0 win in the 101st Stadtderby, Hamburg were dealt a sour blow: captain Aaron Hunt, who was substituted shortly before half-time yesterday, suffered a tear in his right hamstring and will therefore be unavailable for the clash with SV Darmstadt 98. Such was the conclusion following an MRI scan. The 32-year-old had just come back from injury and enjoyed his return from five games away with a 1-0 win over Greuther Fürth, where he scored the winning goal. He also caused problems during his short appearance in the derby, when his free-kick bounced off the bar and turned into a makeshift assist for Lasogga’s opener. So far this season, HSV have only lost two games when Hunt has played and have averaged 2.3 points per game.
