Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit sidelined once again
The 19-year-old Norway youth international has suffered a setback on the road to recovery from the Syndesmosis injury he suffered at the start of the year, and will need to undergo surgery.
In an unfortunate injury update for Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit and Hamburger SV, the 19-year-old winger has suffered a setback on his journey back to fitness and will need to undergo surgery. The Norwegian forward sustained another injury to his ankle during training last week; this was ascertained following thorough medical examinations at the Athleticum in the Volkspark.
Rössing-Lelesiit was fouled in a challenge at the halfway line during the opening stages of the Hamburg derby away at FC St. Pauli at the end of January (0-0), and has been unable to appear for HSV since. The youngster had recently begun training with the team again and was nearing a return to the matchday squad. Having joined the club in February 2025, Rössing-Lelesiit has made 14 appearances across all competitions in the 2025/26 season, providing one assist.
He now begins his rehabilitation process following the injury setback. HSV and the club’s medical staff will do all they can to support him in this. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Alex.
