The defender tore a hamstring during the 1-1 home draw with FC Ingolstadt and will be sidelined for several weeks.
Gideon Jung tore a hamstring in his hip during HSV’s 1-1 Bundesliga matchday 1 home draw with Ingolstadt on Saturday afternoon (27.08.16). The 21 year old defender is extpected to be unavailable for selection for three to four weeks. The injury is doublly for Jung because it means he must decline a call up to Germany’s under-21 squad for impending international games. Around a year ago, Jung was called up for the first and only time, only to be denied by another injury.
The Düsseldorf - born talent made his 20th Bundesliga appearance on Saturday, only to be substituted on 66 minutes through the injury.
