The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have reached a decision regarding Mario Vuskovic. Judges in Lausanne overturned the original decision reached by the DFB – a two-year ban for EPO doping – and elected instead to impose a four-year ban on the Croatian centre-back in accordance with the organisation’s statutes. As a result, Vuskovic will banned until 15th November 2026, meaning he will be unable to play for or train with any football clubs.
The 22-year-old’s legal team will now review the written judgement. Both the player and the club are asking for understanding at this time, as this is a time-consuming process. Following this, HSV and Vuskovic will enter into private talks in order to discuss the new circumstances and determine the next course of action.
