Emir Sahiti joins Hannover 96
The 27-year-old Kosovan leaves Hamburger SV to join a 2. Bundesliga club. He made 26 competitive appearances for HSV, registering five goal contributions.
Farewell after two years: winger Emir Sahiti is leaving Hamburger SV with immediate effect to join Hannover 96 in the 2. Bundesliga. The 27-year-old Kosovan had already spent the second half of last season on loan at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
“Emir always conducted himself professionally and positively, gave his all and was a very popular member of the squad. He made a valuable contribution to our promotion. Following his return from his loan spell in Israel, we held open and honest talks with Emir, during which we mutually agreed that he was unlikely to get regular playing time. We wish him nothing but the very best, both professionally and personally, as he takes on this new challenge in Hannover,” says Director of Sport Claus Costa.

“It was a great honour for me”
Sahiti had been under contract with HSV since August 2024 and made 26 competitive appearances for the club, scoring three goals and providing two assists. The majority of his appearances and all of his goal contributions came during the 2024/25 promotion campaign. He emerged as the match-winner in the 3–2 victory in Berlin on Matchday 19, scoring the winning goal in the 84th minute, before netting both of HSV’s goals in the 2–2 draw away at Schalke on Matchday 30.
Following promotion, he made two appearances each in the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal. He has yet to feature in a competitive match this season.
“I had a truly wonderful time at HSV. It was a great honour for me to play for such a big club with such a rich tradition. I’m delighted that we managed to return to the Bundesliga together and that I was part of this team. I enjoyed sharing the dressing room with my teammates every single day. I wish everyone at and around the club nothing but the best, and I would like to thank everyone for everything,” says Sahiti as he bids farewell.
