Emir Sahiti leaves HSV on loan
The 27-year-old winger has left Hamburger SV on a temporary basis and will spend the remainder of the season on loan at Maccabi Tel Aviv.
Hamburger SV have confirmed a temporary departure this winter, with Emir Sahiti leaving the club on loan. The 27-year-old winger has moved to Israeli Europa League participants Maccabi Tel Aviv until the end of the season. “Emir hasn’t had the amount of playing time he was hoping for so far this season, so a loan move makes sense for all parties. Emir is a very popular character within the squad and has behaved impeccably every day despite his sporting situation. He played his part in us getting back to the Bundesliga. We wish him every success during his time in Israel and will be following his progress closely while he’s out on loan,” said sporting director Claus Costa.

Part of the promotion campaign
Sahiti joined HSV from HNK Hajduk Split in August 2024 and went on to make 26 competitive appearances for the club. During last season’s promotion campaign, he contributed three goals and two assists. He scored the winning goal in the 84th minute of the 3-2 victory in Berlin on matchday 19 and found the net twice in the 2-2 draw away at Schalke on matchday 30. This season, he featured twice in the Bundesliga and twice in the DFB-Pokal.
Reflecting on his departure, Sahiti said: “I’m very grateful for my time at HSV so far. Last season in particular, with promotion, was a real highlight for me. Now I’m looking forward to my new opportunity at Maccabi Tel Aviv. I wish HSV all the best for the rest of the season and hope the club can retain their place in the Bundesliga.”
