Friendly against Lille at the Volksparkstadion on 8th August
The Rothosen will face another French side in pre-season in the shape of LOSC, who qualified for the UEFA Champions League last season.
HSV will take on Champions League opposition as part of their pre-season preparations when they host French top-flight side Lille Olympique Sporting Club, better known as LOSC, on Saturday, 8th August. The game will take place at the Volksparkstadion, with kick-off at 15:00 CEST.
Lille are one of France’s leading clubs and finished third in Ligue 1 last season, securing a place in the Champions League for the ninth time in their history. They won their fourth French league title in 2021, finishing ahead of a Paris Saint-Germain side featuring stars such as Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. Lille have also lifted the French Cup six times.
Davide Ancelotti, son of legendary coach Carlo Ancelotti, has taken charge of Lille ahead of the 2026/27 season. His squad includes experienced French World Cup winner Olivier Giroud (39) and Ethan Mbappe (19), the younger brother of Kylian. The Rothosen will now take on Lille on 8th August before facing another French side, Toulouse FC, exactly a week later. HSV then begin their competitive campaign on 24th August, when they travel to SC Verl in the first round of the DFB-Pokal.
