Gideon Jung receives under-21 call up

The 22 year old HSV defender has been called up by German under-21 coach Stefan Kuntz to the 25-man squad for the European under-21 tournament which takes place in Poland from June 16 – 30.  Former HSV men Jonathan Tah and Levin Öztunali also made the squad.

Jung has made 28 Bundesliga and four DFB Cup appearances (1 goal + 1 assist). Jung made his debut for the under-21s against England on March 24th 2017. Germany won the game 1-0. Jung played well over the full 90 minutes. Since then he has been forced to decline two invitations through injury. Now it seems that the talent will feature in the impending under-21 Euros.
