Gui Ramos leaves HSV
After making 36 appearances for the Rothosen, the 28-year-old centre-back has departed the club to join Chinese side Beijing Guoan.
Centre-back Guilherme Ramos has left HSV after a two-and-a-half-year spell for a new challenge. The 28-year-old centre-back has joined Chinese club Beijing Guoan with immediate effect. “Gui is a model professional who always put the team first and showed full commitment to this club from day one. He was always there whenever he was needed. His goal in the Pokal game at Pirmasens is a great example of that. From a sporting perspective, an opportunity has now arisen that makes sense for all parties. We wish him nothing but the best for the future,” commented sporting director Claus Costa. Ramos’ contract at HSV would have expired this coming summer. Centre-back Shafiq Nandja (19), who has already been a regular in first-team training, will now move even closer to the first-team squad as part of the ongoing integration between the academy and the senior side.

36 appearances for HSV
Ramos signed for HSV from DSC Arminia Bielefeld at the start of the 2023/24 season. The Portuguese defender played 36 times in all competitions for the Rothosen, having also spent the majority of last season on loan at Primeira Liga side CD Santa Clara. Ramos featured 10 times for Hamburg this term, including in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, where his equaliser in injury time kept HSV in the competition as they went on to win 2-1 in extra time at FK Pirmasens.
Ramos himself bid an emotional farewell to Hamburg with the following words: “It was a great honour for me to represent a club with such a rich history as HSV. Being part of the journey here is something I will always value. The path wasn’t always easy, but I leave with unforgettable memories, friendships for life and the knowledge that I gave everything in every single moment. I would like to sincerely thank my teammates, the staff, the board and especially the incredible fans. Your passion and support truly made these years special. I wish HSV nothing but the very best for the future. My chapter here as a player has come to an end, but my connection to the club remains, and I will continue to follow HSV with great appreciation and respect.”
