Hamburg to face SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB-Pokal

Hamburg will travel to third-tier side SV Wehen Wiesbaden in the second round of the DFB-Pokal following Sunday’s draw. Three-time European silver medallist athlete Gina Lückenkemper conducted the draw and matched Die Rothosen against the 3.Liga side, who knocked out Hamburg city rivals St Pauli 3-2 after extra time in the first round.

“We’ve been warned by the outcomes of the first round that we have to be fully focussed when playing away at third-tier opposition. We know that nothing is guaranteed. We have to give 100% to ensure we progress to the next round. Of course we want to be in the last 16, that’s our aim and motivation,” said sporting director Ralf Becker. The second round ties will take place on Tuesday 30th and Wednesday 31st October 2018.
