Hannes Hermann extends HSV contract and joins Jahn Regensburg on loan
The Rothosen academy graduate has signed a new deal and will spend the 2026/27 season with third-tier side SSV Jahn Regensburg.
Hamburger SV have agreed an early contract extension with goalkeeper Hannes Hermann. At the same time, the 21-year-old will join third-tier side SSV Jahn Regensburg on loan for the 2026/27 season.
“Hannes has developed really well on and off the pitch over the past few years. He has shown his potential both with our U21s in the Regionalliga and with Germany U20s. For his continued development, it is now very important for him to gain match experience in professional football at the highest possible level. A loan move to SSV Jahn Regensburg, an ambitious third-tier club, is exactly the right step. We wish Hannes all the very best and will be following his performances closely,” said HSV sporting director Claus Costa.

Part of HSV for 10 years
Hannes Steffen Hermann was born in Hamburg on 23rd March 2005 and has been with HSV for 10 years. The goalkeeper has been the U21s’ number one over the past two seasons, making 60 appearances between the posts and keeping 17 clean sheets. Hermann has also represented Germany at youth level since the U17s. The Hamburg native is currently a Germany U20 international, having made his debut for the age group last November before earning his second cap during the internationals in March.
“I’m very happy to have extended my contract with HSV. For now, my journey continues in Regensburg, where I want to play as many third-division games as possible. It’s a good opportunity for me to keep developing,” said Hermann.
