HSV and HEK to continue their partnership

Both Hamburger SV and HEK have agreed to continue their partnership until the end of 2019. HEK, or ‘Hanseatische Krankenkasse’ (Hanseatic health insurance), will be an exclusive partner of the HSV football school and will focus on the well-being of the young players.

With 11,000 total participants last year alone, the HSV football school is the biggest of its kind in Germany. HEK will open and run health centres at the 140 football camps that take place under the banner of the football school each year.

“We’re very happy to be able to continue our close partnership with HEK for the coming years. They will function as the exclusive partner of our HSV football school and predominantly work with the children and their families in health centres that they will run themselves at the camps,” says commercial director Oliver Poppelbaum.

Aside from the HEK health centre itself, in which the children can get a better understand of health and wellbeing by participating in fun games, other measures will be put in place. One such measure will be to put the HEK logo on the kits, balls and bags that the youngsters will use.

“The health and wellbeing of children is very close to our hearts. We aim to raise awareness of the topic of prevention and to promote teamwork and physical exercise. By continuing our partnership with HSV, we will be able to raise the awareness of 11,000 children and their families per year about what they can do to help prevent themselves from illness,” says Torsten Kafka, the CEO of HEK.
