HSV depart for Denmark training camp with 27-man squad

Next stop, Helsingør! After meeting at the Volksparkstadion, the Rothosen set off for Denmark, where they will hold the first training camp of this summer’s preparations for the 2026/27 Bundesliga season. The HSV travelling party first flew to Copenhagen at 11:00 CEST. From there, they will make the roughly hour-long journey by bus to Helsingør, where the squad will be based at the Marienlyst Strandhotel until Saturday, 11th July.

HSV head coach Merlin Polzin has named a 27-man squad for the four-day camp on the Danish coast. Alongside new signing Kofi Amoako, the group includes Emir Sahiti, Immanuel Pherai and Joel Agyekum, who are all back from loan spells, as well as a number of players from the HSV academy. Louis Lemke (16), Jason Bissi-Mouelle (18), Thierry Sedlatschek (17), Jannes von Diczelski (17) and Elias Lahti (17) are five highly rated talents taking part in a training camp with the HSV first team for the first time. U19 goalkeeper Colin Poppelbaum, who was already part of the first team’s camp in Herzogenaurach last year, completes the academy sextet.

Argentina international Nicolas Capaldo will link up with the squad on Thursday, 9th July following his extended break after being away with his national team. Centre-back Aboubaka Soumahoro, who spent the second half of the 2025/26 season on loan at AS Saint-Etienne, has been excused to hold talks over his future.

The main focus of the four-day training camp in Denmark will be getting the players back on the ball. Polzin will take charge of his side’s first session of the new season at 16:45 CEST this afternoon. The public training schedule can be found here.
