HSV end training camp prematurely
Hamburger SV are heading back from Glücksburg and will do their pre-season preparation at their own training pitch in the Volksparkstadion.
On Sunday, HSV headed out to Glücksburg to start their six-day training camp as a start to their pre-season preparations. However, this afternoon, the team headed back for Hamburg due to the unsatisfactory training conditions at the Sportplatz at the Marineschule Mürwik. “In Glücksburg, the conditions were mostly great but unfortunately the grass at the training pitch was not in the condition we required it to be. There was a risk of injury that we can’t take a chance on. The players’ condition is most important,” explained sporting director Ralf Becker and head coach Christian Titz added: “We need good training conditions to prepare for next season as well as possible. Due to the state of the pitch, we couldn’t do that here and, therefore, Ralf Becker, the coaching staff and the team made this decision together.”
