HSV extend Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit’s contract
The 18-year-old attacker, who has been at the club since February 2025, has taken further positive steps in his development in recent months. The Norwegian’s contract has now been extended.
Hamburger SV have extended the contract of one of the youngest players in their senior squad. Alexander Rössing-Lelesiit has signed a new deal and will continue to play for the Rothosen in the years ahead. The 18-year-old winger, who is currently recovering from a muscle strain and is completing his rehabilitation programme in his native Norway over the Christmas period, joined HSV from Norwegian club Lillestrøm SK on the final day of last winter’s transfer window. Since then, he has made eight appearances in the Bundesliga, two in the 2. Bundesliga and a further three in the DFB-Pokal. In the dramatic 2-1 home win over VfB Stuttgart, the right-footer registered his first goal involvement for HSV, providing the assist for Robert Glatzel.

Well integrated and developing positively
Those responsible at HSV have taken note of Rössing-Lelesiit’s positive development and have now rewarded it with a contract extension. “Despite his young age, Alex has settled in very well and shown steady progress,” said board member Stefan Kuntz, underlining the importance HSV place on developing young players. “He identifies fully with the club. We are giving him the time he needs to continue taking the next steps together with us – and he will give us a great deal of joy along the way.” The young Norwegian stands alongside players such as Fabio Baldé and William Mikelbrencis as representatives of that pathway.
Earned Bundesliga starts
“Alex has a high willingness to learn and always wants to improve. He plays with intensity, courage and freedom. With his pace, his quality in attacking one-on-one situations and his defensive commitment, he brings ideal attributes for a wide player. After a strong Under-19 European Championship, he earned his first starts in the Bundesliga. His development is far from complete – we believe in his potential and are very pleased that he has committed his long-term future to HSV,” added director of football Claus Costa. Rössing-Lelesiit is keen to continue proving himself in Hamburg: “I feel very comfortable at HSV and really sense the trust from the coaches and those in charge,” said Rössing-Lelesiit. “This is a good environment for me to keep developing consistently and to test myself in the Bundesliga. That’s why I’m very happy to be able to continue playing for this great club in the years ahead.”
