HSV see off Heidenheim 3-1 in friendly

The game burst into life after the restart. Daka almost made it 2-0 within seconds, but Thomas Dähne, who had replaced Feller in goal, denied him from close range. The second goal did arrive in the 49th minute, when substitute Philippe found himself clean through and coolly finished into the bottom-right corner. The forward came close again two minutes later, sending a low free-kick from the right edge of the box narrowly wide of the post (51’).

Heidenheim pulled one back in the 54th minute. Following a corner, Mhamdi got a shot away from outside the box and the ball took a deflection off HSV academy graduate Jason Bissi Mouelle before finding its way past Daniel Heuer Fernandes, who had not been tested until then. Just three minutes later, Daka restored HSV’s two-goal lead with his first goal for the Rothosen. Grønbæk played the number 27 in and he had no trouble finishing from point-blank range. Louis Lemke then headed another chance goalwards (63’), while Immanuel Pherai tried an acrobatic volley from inside the box (76’). By that stage, HSV had made changes in almost every outfield position. Aside from Heuer Fernandes, Lemke had spent the longest on the pitch, with the 16-year-old making way for another new signing, Bilal Nadir, with around a quarter of an hour remaining. Kofi Amoako had one final opportunity for HSV in the 85th minute as the Rothosen saw out the win to claim their second victory of pre-season.
