HSV sign Andrej Vasiljevic
The 16-year-old centre-forward is considered one of Europe’s top talents and is set to be gradually introduced to the professional level. Claus Costa: “Andrej is an exciting striker.”
Hamburger SV have signed Andrej Vasiljevic. The 16-year-old centre-forward is regarded as one of the most promising talents of his age group and will join the club from the youth academy of Hungarian top-flight side MTK Budapest for the 2026/27 season. The youngster successfully completed his medical at the Volkspark and subsequently signed a long-term contract.

“We worked hard for a long time to sign Andrej and are all the more pleased about the clear commitment from him and his family to HSV,” said sporting director Claus Costa about the signing of the highly sought-after U17 international, who had been closely monitored over a long period by the club’s scouting department. “Andrej is an exciting striker. He has that combination of classic centre-forward attributes like size, technique and goal-scoring ability and does them at a high level. He already plays with a maturity beyond his years”
HSV plan to gradually integrate the young attacker into the professional game. “This transfer is a perfect example of the close cooperation between the first team and the academy. We are convinced that Andrej can successfully take the next steps in his career with us,” Costa continued.
Andrej Vasiljevic is the son of former professional Dušan Vasiljević, who made more than 250 top-flight appearances in Hungary as well as playing in 24 Bundesliga matches for Energie Cottbus. Andrej has attracted a lot of attention in recent years, playing in the youth teams of MTK Budapest as well as in Hungary’s national youth sides. He has also played above his age group on multiple occasions. At HSV, Vasiljevic will initially play at youth level and will be gradually integrated into the first team.
Welcome to HSV, Andrej!
