The 28-year-old Austrian striker has signed a two year contract with the Rothosen.

Hamburger SV have made the next addition to their squad for the 2019/20 2. Bundesliga season. Lukas Hinterseer has joined the Rothosen on a free transfer from fellow second tier side VfL Bochum. The 28-year-old Austrian completed his medical on Thursday afternoon and has signed a two year contract until 2021. Standing at 1.92m tall, Hinterseer was one of the top goalscorers in the 2. Bundesliga this season.

In the 2018/19 Bundesliga season, Hinterseer made 31 starts for Bochum, scoring 18 goals and providing nine assists. This made the Austrian the third highest scorer in the second tier this season. Hinterseer has spent the last two years in Bochum but has previously played in the Bundesliga during his three year spell with FC Ingolstadt (2014-17). The new signing is excited for the new chapter in his career in Hamburg. “I was fully convinced that joining HSV was the right decision. It is something very special to play for this club and I’m already looking forward to next season.”
