HSV sign Mads Bröcker
The 18-year-old joins the Rothosen from RB Leipzig’s academy and will initially continue his development with the U21s before being gradually introduced to the first-team setup.
Hamburger SV have signed talented young midfielder Mads Bröcker. The 18-year-old joins the Rothosen from RB Leipzig’s U19s and will continue his development with HSV's U21s as he works towards the first team. Bröcker successfully completed his medical at the Athleticum am Volkspark before signing his contract.
“Mads has a promising skillset for a player in his positionn with his creativity and football intelligence. He's recently been a regular in RB Leipzig’s U19 side and also made his debut for Germany at that level,” said HSV sporting director Claus Costa. “We see great development potential in him and want to help him progress step by step towards our first team via the U21s. We strongly believe that Mads can continue his development at HSV and take the next steps in his career.”

Mads Bröcker spent the past two years in Leipzig’s academy, having previously come through the youth setups at the likes of Hannover 96 and Hansa Rostock. The youngster made a total of 49 competitive appearances for the Red Bulls’ U17s and U19s, directly contributing to 14 goals (six goals, eight assists). Bröcker is also a Germany youth international, having made his debut for the U19s last March.
Mads is now the third member of the Bröcker family to be involved with Hamburger SV. His father Fabian was a player with the Rothosen between 2000 and 2005 and was named on the bench for the first team on several occasions. His grandfather Werner was employed by the club as a scout for almost two decades. Mads is now beginning his own journey at HSV, and is set to be gradually integrated into the first-team setup via the U21s.
