HSV to part ways with Hannes Wolf

The 38-year-old head coach will leave the club at the end of the current season.

Hamburger SV will end its association with head coach Hannes Wolf following the final matchday of the 2018/19 season, HSV sporting director Ralf Becker announced during a press conference on Friday. “We sat down together to analyse the second half of the season, as well as our current situation, in addition to our plans for next season,” Becker said. “As a club, we have made the decision to part ways with Hannes Wolf at the end of the current season. At Hannes’ request, we are sharing the news prior to our last match of the season.” Wolf, who took over as HSV head coach on 23rd October 2018, will oversee his last game in charge this upcoming Sunday 19th May (15:30 CEST) against MSV Duisburg. “It’s a reasonable decision to make, given the way the last few weeks have gone, and with an eye ahead to the upcoming season,” said Wolf. “It was important to me that we part ways with dignity and respect, since we have always had a very trust-filled relationship.”
