HSV train at Parken ahead of Copenhagen clash
29 players were involved as the Rothosen completed their final training session ahead of their friendly in Copenhagen. New signing Nicolas Capaldo was one of them, and he could be set to make his first appearance in a HSV shirt tomorrow.
HSV are preparing for their toughest test of pre-season so far. On Saturday, 12th July (15:00 CEST), the Rothosen visit Danish champions F.C. Copenhagen. The match at Parken will be broadcast live on HSV’s YouTube channel, presented by Treppenbau Voß.
The Rothosen last visited Parken for a UEFA Cup first-round tie almost 20 years ago, winning 1-0 in September 2005 thanks to a Rafael van der Vaart penalty. The current squad were able to get a taste of playing at the imposing stadium when they completed Friday’s training session on the pitch – although this was behind closed doors. Merlin Polzin was able to include 29 players in the session, with only Immanuel Pherai remaining in Hamburg due to injury. New signing Nicolas Capaldo was involved for the first time since completing his move to HSV from Salzburg on Thursday.

As well as the established first-team players, three U21 stars were involved, in goalkeeper Colin Poppelbaum and midfielders Dorian Migalic and Omar Megeed. Noah Katterbach, Fabio Balde, Otto Stange and Alexander Rossing-Lelesit were on the grass but did not take part in team training. Instead, they completed an individual session with rehabilitation coach Sebastian Capel.
Everyone else will be available for the game on Saturday, and they will all be looking forward to this special friendly. The fans of both clubs have a close friendship and have been calling for the two sides to meet for a long time. Around 10,000 of the approximately 30,000 spectators are expected to be HSV fans, and the atmosphere will be lively for this good test for the Rothosen.
