HSV up close: Public training sessions in Denmark

After completing their performance tests at the Athleticum am Volkspark, Merlin Polzin’s side will head north on Wednesday (8th July). The Rothosen will be based in Helsingør, Denmark, until Saturday (11th July) for their first training camp of the summer ahead of the 2026/27 season.

“The training camp in Denmark is our first time together as a group in the new season and marks the start of our preparations after a longer summer break. We have already completed the performance tests, but now it is about getting back out on the pitch, having the ball at our feet again and settling into the football-specific work,” explained Polzin.

The team will stay at the Marienlyst Strandhotel, which the Denmark national team also regularly uses as a base when preparing for international matches. “It is special to work at a camp where the Denmark national team usually prepares. Having this opportunity is a privilege and certainly not something to be taken for granted. We know how much the national team means in Denmark and how strongly they are supported across the country, so we are all the more pleased to be able to be guests there,” said Polzin.

A close-up look at the start of pre-season

The team will spend four days in Helsingør gearing up for the new campaign before training resumes at the Volksparkstadion next Monday (13th July). The sessions in Denmark will be open to the public, giving fans the chance to see the first-team players up close.
