Injury setback for Immanuel Pherai

The midfielder suffered partial ligament tear in left knee during training challenge and is set to be sidelined over the coming weeks,

Immanuel Pherai will be out of action for the time being after picking up an injury during training. The 24-year-old midfielder sustained a partial tear to the medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee following a challenge on Thursday (10th July) during his first session back in Hamburg, having returned from an extended break due to international duty.

After receiving initial treatment, Pherai was forced to cut the session short. A thorough examination at the UKE Athleticum later that day confirmed the diagnosis. As a result, HSV’s number 10 will not be available to head coach Merlin Polzin or the team for the next few weeks. Pherai also did not travel to Copenhagen with the squad on Friday (11th July).
