Injury Update: Fabio Vieira and Bilal Nadir Sidelined For the Next Weeks
The two HSV midfielders have both sustained muscle injuries during the away game at Paderborn and will be out for the time being.
Hamburger SV will have to make do without midfielders Fabio Vieira (26) and Bilal Nadir (22) over the coming weeks. Both players sustained thigh injuries during last Saturday’s (24 October) away match against SC Paderborn, which ended in a 1–0 defeat for HSV. This was confirmed by detailed MRI scans carried out at the Athleticum am Volkspark. Nadir has also been diagnosed with tendon involvement, meaning he is expected to face a longer spell on the sidelines than his Portuguese team-mate.
Fabio Vieira, who topped the Rothosen’s scoring charts in the league last season with seven goals and five assists, joined HSV on a permanent deal from Arsenal FC in the summer. He has made six appearances for the club so far this season.
Bilal Nadir also joined the Rothosen this summer, arriving from Olympique Marseille. The Franco-Moroccan midfielder has made five appearances in all competitions in HSV colours to date. Most recently, the 22-year-old started two matches in a row.
