Injury update – Miro Muheim
The left-back sustained an ankle injury in the Nordderby against Werder Bremen, and is expected to miss the rest of the season as a result.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow for HSV and Miro Muheim: The 28-year-old left-back collided with Leonardo Bittencourt during the 3-1 Bundesliga defeat away at SV Werder Bremen, suffering an injury to the anterior syndesmosis in his right ankle as a result. The nature and extent of the injury were ascertained following thorough examination through the use of MRI scans, performed on Monday (20th April) at the Athleticum in the Volkspark.
Muheim has played more minutes across all competitions than any other HSV outfielder. He has been one of the club’s most consistent performers in the current Bundesliga season, missing just two games through suspension and being named in the starting XI for 27 of his 28 top-flight appearances. He has also provided four assists so far in this campaign. HSV wishes Miro a full and speedy recovery.
