Knee injury sidelines Kostic
The HSV wide man sustained the injury during the recent 1-1 friendly draw with Sparta Rotterdam and will be out of action for weeks.
Bitter news for Filip Kostic. The Serbian winger was given the news following a scan in Innsbruck on Wednesday afternoon (26.7). Club sport boss Jens Todt: “We initially thought that the injury was much worse. Thankfully that turned out not to be the case. Still, it is a great shame that he will miss the rest of our pre-season preparation.” The player himself said: “It’s annoying that I am sidelined because I had been feeling very good, but I am glad that the problem is not too serious.” The midfielder is expected to be out for weeks. It is hoped that he will be fit again for the start of the new season which starts next month.
