Lukasz Poreba joins SV Elversberg on permanent deal
The Saarland club have activated their option to buy the defensive midfielder, who joined SVE on loan from HSV last summer before becoming a key figure in their promotion to the Bundesliga.
There has been another departure from the HSV squad, with Lukasz Poreba joining SV Elversberg on a permanent basis. The newly promoted Bundesliga side from Saarland have activated the option to buy the 26-year-old that was agreed in summer 2025. The Polish midfielder spent the 2025/26 season on loan at SVE and was an integral part of their promotion-winning team. Poreba featured in all 34 Bundesliga 2 matches, starting 32 of them, and contributed one goal and four assists.
“The loan worked out perfectly for everyone involved. Luki made great progress at SV Elversberg and played a major role in their promotion to the Bundesliga. We would like to thank him for all his efforts at HSV, which will also forever be linked with an historic promotion. We wish him all the best for the future and look forward to seeing him again next season,” said HSV sporting director Claus Costa.
Poreba joined HSV from French club RC Lens in summer 2023 and went on to make 37 competitive appearances, scoring three goals and providing three assists. Those matches included the promotion-clinching 6-1 win against SSV Ulm, when he started the game and delivered a convincing performance in an unfamiliar role at centre-back.
Thanks for everything, Luki – and all the best at Elversberg!
