Mangala called up to preliminary Belgian U21 squad

Unfortunately, Orel Mangala will play no further part in HSV’s season. The 21 year old suffered a torn hamstring during training last week and will not return in time for the final game of the season as Die Rothosen welcome MSV Duisburg to the Volksparkstadion on Sunday (19th May, kickoff 15:30 CEST). Mangala will return to his parent club, VfB Stuttgart, at the end of the season and has been named in the preliminary squad for the Belgian U21 national team ahead of the U21 European Championship, which will take place from the 16th until the 30th June in Italy. The Red Devils have been named in Group A alongside the hosts, as well as Poland and Spain. Mangala made 29 league appearances for the club this season in addition to 5 DFB-Pokal games, in which he scored one goal.
