Marcell Jansen elected new HSV president

At the club’s annual general meeting on Saturday evening, Marcel Jansen was elected as the new president of Hamburger SV by the club members.

On Saturday evening, Hamburger SV hosted their annual general meeting (AGM) in the edel-optics.de Arena. More than 1,300 HSV club members attended the meeting in the Hamburg suburb of Wilhelmsburg to participate in the club president election. The result of the vote was announced at 17:15 CET and Marcell Jansen was elected HSV president. The 33 year-old and former HSV defender received 1,289 votes while Dr Ralph Hartmann received 490 votes.  The third candidate for the role, Jürgen Hunke, withdrew his application before the vote took place. “From the bottom of my heart, I accept the member’s decision and am proud and delighted to represent HSV as club president,” said Jansen.
