From the Rothosen to the Reds! Matthias Ostrzolek will join newly-promoted Bundesliga side Hannover 96. The defender decided not to renew his current contract at the Volksparkstadion which ends on June 30th 2017. Ostrzolek has agreed terms on a three year contract at the Niedersachen club the club announced on Tuesday (23.05).

“Matthias Ostrzolek played well in various positions during a difficult time at HSV and was instrumental in our season ending on a positive note. We wish him the best of luck in Hannover and look forward to seeing him again in the Bundesliga”, said HSV sport boss Jens Todt.

Ostrzolek joined HSV from FC Augsburg in 2014 and made 89 appearances (1 goal) for Hamburg in three seasons. This season the left back who also played in defensive midfield played 24 times for the Rothosen including four DFB Cup matches.
