Miro Muheim suffers an ankle injury
There was great concern that the left-back had sustained a very serious injury in the away match against SV Elversberg, but thankfully it’s less serious than first thought.
Hamburger SV defender Miro Muheim can take a deep sigh of relief. The left-back suffered an injury at the start of the second half in Saturday’s game (16th September) against SV Elversberg and had to be treated for a long time before being brought off. It was feared that the injury to his right ankle and calf was very serious.
Thorough examinations at the UKE Athleticum revealed both a severe ligament strain and a capsule injury – a less serious injury than first thought. The medical team, head coach Tim Walter and Muheim himself will now discuss the next steps regarding recovery and, later, a possible return to training.
