Nürnberg at home in the DFB-Pokal Last 16
For the Last 16 of the DFB-Pokal, HSV welcome Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg to the Volksparkstadion.
On Sunday evening, the Last 16 draw gave HSV a home advantage for their next DFB-Pokal tie. The Rothosen will entertain newly-promoted Bundesliga side 1. FC Nürnberg. Blind footballer Serdar Celebi drew the remaining 16 teams out of the hat, after his historic goal in the German Championship final was voted Goal of the Month.
"We’re very pleased about it being a home game, and that it’s against another big club like Nürnberg. At the moment our focus is solely on tomorrow night’s second division clash with 1. FC Köln, but in February we’ll obviously want to give everything we’ve got to try and reach the quarterfinals, despite the tough challenge that faces us," said sporting director Ralf Becker after the draw.
Nürnberg have reached the Last 16 thanks to wins away to SV Linx (2-1) and Hansa Rostock (4-2 a.e.t) The next round will be played on the 5th and 6th February 2019. Further information regarding ticket prices will follow in the next few days.
