“One to add to the tally“
HSV came from behind twice to claim an important point in Heidenheim. Here is the post match reaction to the result.
HSV’s players were both pleased yet critical of themselves at full time following the 2-2 draw. Die Rothosen fell behind twice after a set-piece goal and an effort from distance. Hamburg were disappointed with the two goals conceded, but pleased at the mentality shown to come back twice to draw the game. The players will work on weak areas of their game during the week in order to do better against SSV Jahn Regensburg in the next game. HSV.de has the reaction to the game.
Pierre-Michel Lasogga: We have to be pleased with the point today. We conceded two needless goals but managed to come back. We never gave up and reacted well to going behind. We would have liked three points, but it’s one to add to the tally. You could see that we were putting on the pressure. With a little bit of luck we would have scored more.
Berkay Özcan: We knew that it would be a tough game because Heidenheim are in good form. We were lacking something at the start, but did well to come back twice. My goal was purely instinct – I saw that I was one-on-one with the goalkeeper. We wanted to win but a point is okay. We could have created more chances today; it’s something we need to work on. Defensively, we need to communicate better on set-pieces. The boys accepted me into the group really well and I just want to keep improve.
Lewis Holtby: We missed some key players today but we did okay without them. It’s not easy to come here, so it’s a good point. There were parts of the game in which we played well, but also areas that we need to work on. The important thing is not to lose against the other contenders. You have to pick up points and be strong at home.
Hannes Wolf: We expected a difficult game and we got one - Heidenheim are a tough opponent. Early on, we missed chances to play forward. We went 1-0 down after a set piece but bounced back. The second half started similarly and Heidenheim took the lead again. Then we had a bit of luck of our own. It is a deserved point but we would have liked to have done better despite the many change. We'll never make excuses for ourselves. We simply didn't have any full backs available so had to improvise, but the guys who filled in did a good job there.
