Open letter from the HSV team to mark the end of 2025

Dear HSV fans,

We already thanked those of you who were in the stadium at our final home game of the year against Eintracht Frankfurt. Today, we want to reach out once again to all of you.

An incredibly emotional and unforgettable football year now lies behind us. In 2025, we finally did it. We brought HSV back to where the club belongs for all of us: the Bundesliga. And whenever we say “we”, you are always included – everywhere, at all times. Your support for us as a team and your passion for this club are unique and never something we take for granted.

The intense second half of the season – and especially the moments after securing promotion – will stay with many of us as absolute highlights of our careers. From the final whistle on 10th May at the Volksparkstadion to the celebrations on Rathausmarkt on 19th May, those memories will last a lifetime. Looking into your faces, seeing all that joy and almost being able to feel it – that will stay with us forever and filled us with enormous pride. Because you, and also the staff at the club offices, earned this promotion. You waited a long time for it and totally deserved it.

Back in the Bundesliga, we have continued on our shared path with both excitement and humility. The face of our team has changed, but one thing is certain: every new signing felt the force of HSV – and above all your support – from day one and embraced it. Whether at home at the Volksparkstadion, where we played every match in front of a sold-out crowd, or away from home, where we always heard your songs from the stands – you carried us time and time again, especially through the difficult moments and phases of games. That was the only reason we were able to bring the Volkspark fortress to life again in the Bundesliga – including three crucial last-minute goals and wins.

Let’s carry this never-give-up mentality into the year ahead and give everything for each other again over the remaining 19 matchdays of the season. Let’s also continue to show together what HSV stands for: determination, passion and mutual respect. If we all keep going down this road together – fans, club staff and the team with coaches and support staff – then we will achieve our goals in 2026 as well and create more unforgettable moments. We promise to keep giving everything and leaving it all out there for you.
