Our new third kit for the 2020/21 season, for you, the fans

The Volksparkstadion is more than just an arena in which HSV plays its home games. It’s much more than that; it’s our stadium, our living room, our home. The place to which regularly up to 57,000 fans make the journey to and where they’re prepared to give everything for their club; to push the team on, to stand together in difficult moments and to celebrate success together. That these gatherings cannot take place in the current situation doesn’t just hurt the fans, but the players, the employees and the whole club.

As such it is even more appropriate that the design of the third kit for the 2020/21 season has been developed under the motto #ReadyForTheStands together with the fan culture department. A homage to the Volksparkstadion has been created and also to all of those that make it into a special place and fill it with life; all HSV fans whether near or far, who see the Volksparkstadion as their spiritual HSV home.

The grey flecked front of the shirt reflects the concrete foundations of the Volkspark, whilst the steel beams and fences in the arena can be seen in the grey areas on the arms and neck. The kit is rounded off by blue and white additions to the arms, a homage to the seating areas in the club colours. The colourway has also been permanently housed as part of a graffiti in the stairway in the North Stand, thanks to artists from some of the club’s active fan groups. With this new third kit, the Rothosen can even in these extraordinary times in the various stadiums in the division count on the unconditional support from the Volksparkstadion and the HSV fans.
