Quartet on the move during international break
Stephan Ambrosius, Josha Vagnoman, Amadou Onana and Klaus Gjasula are all representing their countries during the international break.
After a short run on Sunday (21st March) to regenerate after the win over Heidenheim, the main aim for the Rothosen now is to recharge the batteries, Daniel Thioune giving his charges two days off before training begins again on Tuesday afternoon. HSV doesn’t have a game at the weekend, although four of its players do; Stephan Ambrosius, Josha Vagnoman, Amadou Onana and Klaus Gjasula packing their suitcases and flying off on Sunday afternoon.
Ambrosius and Vagnoman are part of the German under-21 squad taking part in the group phase of the European Championships. Stefan Kuntz’s side will meet co-hosts Hungary in Szekesfehervar on the 24th March, the Netherlands three days later in the same stadium, and Romania in Budapest on the 30th March, during their fixtures in Group A.
Klaus Gjasula and Albania begin World Cup qualification, also enjoying a trio of fixtures against Andorra, England and San Marino. Meanwhile, Amadou Onana and the Belgian under-21 side didn’t qualify for the finals in Hungary and Slovenia, but is completing friendlies against St. Liege and Club Brugge during the international break.
