Ralf Becker becomes HSV’s sporting director

HSV have a new sporting director: Ralf Becker. In accordance with the board of directors’ decision, HSV acquired the former Holstein Kiel sporting director. The 47-year-old Becker, under whom last season Kiel went from Bundesliga 2 relegation favourites to a relegation play-off match with VfL Wolfsburg away from Bundesliga football next season. He will be officially presented in a press conference later today.

“We’re delighted to acquire a sporting director who is an expert in the field of Bundesliga 2,” said Max-Arnold Köttgen. Becker has signed a contract until 2021. He said the following: “I’m looking forward to the new challenge. We have a lot to do.”
